Bio

Richard Bienvenu is a real born and raised New Orleanian. He loves the idea of contributing to people and being involved in a lot of great projects. Several years ago he got ordained as a minister through the Universal Life Church.

Currently he is registered with the parish of Orleans to perform ceremonies. He loves the idea of being able to contribute to folks in this way. If you would like your ceremony to be in any of the surrounding parishes he has to know several weeks in advance to be able to file the paperwork with those parishes.

Although he if from New Orleans he has lived other places. He spent 16 years in Washington State and for several of those years he lived on 65 acres, raised animals, had a beautiful garden with his partner at the time who was a great cook and she taught him a lot about cooking. And has since been able to bring those cooking skills to New Orleans and use them to make delicious New Orleans style food. He is also a musician, performs regularly with the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans as baritone and performs voice and guitar at select venues.

Why is he telling you all this? To let you know of his diverse background and his ability to make your wedding day something special.

You can check out his book Your Own Personal New Orleans Tour to have a special visit to New Orleans. If you are living in New Orleans well of course you would not need this book but you might have family and friends who would love it!

He has lived in Los Angeles, and Seville, Spain and spent many years teaching English as a Second Language which he loves. He is conversant in Spanish and is good at pronouncing French but currently pretty meager in speaking it. He says all this just in case you would like you ceremony in French or Spanish.

Currently he has a radio show Completely New Orleans on WGSO 990 AM. You can catch podcasts of the show on WGSO.com

Below I’ve posted the pertinent documents attesting to his legitimacy as a marriage celebrant. He looks forward to performing your wedding and making your day special not matter which of the wedding packages you choose.
